Hugh studied Fine Art and Graphic Design in Newcastle and entered the world of press advertising. He worked for several large agencies culminating in a post as art director, before launching out as a freelance designer. That was then…

Now… he enjoys working in acrylics, capturing light and shade and weather patterns in the glorious Borders landscape in ever larger formats, as well as creating portraits of hens, ducks and other domestic creatures. And he plans to make more welded sculptures…

His bird paintings are often on show at Conundrum Farm by Berwick-on-Tweed.
